Etraya - Stonhyrr Information

⏵ STONHYRR ⏴
Standing defiantly above treacherous waters rests an imposing fortress made of that which it derives its namesake. The brutal architecture does little to welcome visitors, as does the single bridge which connects it to the mainland. Perched upon jagged rocks which look just as threatening as the crashing waters which yearn to ravage aught that might dare to enter it, there is no doubt this structure was made with repelling invasion in mind. There also seems to be a perpetuate thunderstorm above, though no rain falls despite the dance of lightning and clap of thunder overhead. Everything about this place seems utterly oppressive and violent, and for good reason.

The labyrinthine layout of the fortress does much to impede those that are unfamiliar with its design, metal gates sectioning off much of the thoroughfare, which winds below and above structures within. Likewise, there is a baffling amount of six-legged horse statues that mark intersections as well as stand vigil over the docks if one were to get that far. Though they barely help to serve as landmarks. All of this will likely leave one perplexed before long, but being lost is not the worst of it. The outer paths are large, far larger than what is necessary for simply men, and that is because it accommodates beasts and battalions alike.

Should one be fortunate to not meet with the behemoth at the bridge, at the arena positioned roughly at the halfway point between land and Stonhyrr itself, then they might soon find themselves hunted within the bounds of the fortress' outer structure. This large creature is equal parts as violent and dangerous as it is massive. Without its master to bring it to heel, it will attack any and all that decide to trespass, using its tremendous strength and mastery over magic to repel all would-be interlopers.

Even the most powerful of combatants will likely find it a more worthwhile endeavor to leave, for this will not be a victory worth the cost. After all, there is little to be gained by coming here, for all its space and impressive structure, the fortress is rather...hollow. Besides Barnabas and his monstrous guard, there is nothing of value here.
